I am a postdoc in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. In October 2022, I received my Ph.D. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University. Back in July 2017, I received my Bachelor degrees from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) in Energy & Power Engineering and Economics .

My current work focuses on plasma-assisted carbon capture and laser-induced plasma photonic crystals. My general research interests span from gas-phase chemical kinetics, reactive flows, weakly ionized plasmas to laser diagnostics. I envision immense opportunities for future research in sustainable energy conversion, non-equilibirum chemical manufacturing, and advanced propulsion.

Hongtao is actively searching for a tenure track assistant professor position!
